Brief bio
Dr. Andrea Alu is the founding director of the Photonics Initiative at the Advanced Science Research Center and Einstein Professor of Physics & Electrical Engineering at the CUNY. He is also a Professor of Electrical Engineering at the City College of New York and an affiliate of the Wireless Networking and Communications Group at The University of Texas at Austin. His current research interests span over a broad range of areas, including metamaterials and plasmonics, electromagnetics, optics and photonics, scattering, cloaking and transparency, nanocircuits and nanostructures modeling, miniaturized and nanoantennas, RF antennas and circuits, acoustic devices, and metamaterials.
